Highlights

The Cape Perpetua campground is located in a forested area within the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area. Cape Creek runs through the campground, with many sites situated next to the creek.

Trails lead from the campground to the visitors center, and from there, to tidepools and several unique coastal features including Devils Cauldron, Thors Well, and Spouting Horn.

Some of the best remaining old growth forest on the Oregon Coast can also be accessed here, with a 23-mile trail system within the designated Scenic Area.  Take the Cape Perpetua Trail or drive to the top of the cape for outstanding views of the Oregon Coast.

Cape Perpetua – Cooks Ridge/Gwynn Creek loop hike

With 26 miles of trails, this area contains some of the best remaining old growth forest on the Oregon Coast. Also not to be missed are short trails to coastline features including Devils Churn, Cooks Chasm, Thors Well, and Spouting Horn. A visitors center has exhibits that highlight the cultural and natural history of this unique area. View my trip report for the Cooks Ridge/Gwynn Creek loop hike.
