Location: Oregon Coast, south of Tillamook at Cape Lookout State Park
Distance: 12 miles
Elevation Gain: 800 ft.
We camped for two nights and hiked to the end of Cape Lookout from the campsite. The first part of the hike is through the coastal forest along the ocean and has lots of up and down climbs. The second part is on the actual Cape. When we were there was dry, but it must get fairly muddy since there are quite a few boardwalks along the path. There are great views both to the north and the south along the cape. When you get to the end, you can only see directly west and south. The view to the north is blocked by trees and shrubs. This was a very long hike for us, and we were totally wiped out when we got back to camp. The section from the campground to the start of the cape hike is the best part.
