Winter days on the coast are fantastic when the conditions are right. On this day, it was warmer than in Portland and sunny. There were, however, high winds which made it feel much colder. With good visibility, we were able to see quite a ways down the coastline from the viewpoints. Actually, once you are out of the initial forested area, the entire headland is wide open to the ocean, the Salmon River estuary and looking south towards Lincoln City and well beyond.
