distance: 4.25 miles
elevation gain: 1,495 ft
hike description: OregonHikers.org – Archer Mountain Loop Hike
drive time from Portland: 1 hour
parking pass: none
I was unfamiliar with this trail until the Eagle Creek wildfire in 2017 jumped the Columbia River and started a fire here. We didn’t do the full loop, skipping the High Valley section which is the site of a former commune. I was surprised to get a tick on me this far west in the Gorge, so I’d recommend long pants and a tick check after doing this hike, especially in the spring when ticks are active.
