hike: Salmon River Canyon
The Salmon River Canyon trail is usually snow-free in the winter, with higher water levels in the river and streams – and the forest at this time of year is lush with many shades of green.
Even though I’ve done this hike many times, the Salmon River Canyon trail is always beautiful – a great place for a first hike of the year. It was cold and windy today, with temps around 35 degrees but it was relatively snow-free so we were able to reach the canyon viewpoint without any issues. It was super windy at the viewpoint and was difficult to take a photo while getting blown around, so we didn’t spend much time there before heading back to take a break out of the wind.
