Multnomah-Wahkeena loop hike

The classic loop from Multnomah Falls to Wahkeena Falls… beauty in every season.

5.4 miles 1,600 ft gain

I’ve been working to get my husband back into hiking, so we did the classic Multnomah Falls to Wahkeena Falls loop hike on Saturday. I was happy to see that (almost) everything is looking much greener after the fire.

We parked at the Wahkeena Falls trailhead and took the Return Trail to Multnomah Falls. I’m always happy when we finish the paved switchbacks. There are fewer people, and I much prefer hiking on trail versus pavement. To complete the loop, we took the Wahkeena Trail, stopping at Wahkeena Spring for a lunch break. To reach the spring, take the Angels Rest trail for 1/10 mile to the spring via a side trail on the right. After lunch, we continued down the Wahkeena Trail to the finish the hike.
