Indian Heaven Wilderness is my favorite place to backpack in the fall due to the brilliant display of color. On this four day backpacking trip, we hiked the Lakes Basin loop and explored around Lemei Rock.
On this four day trip at Mount Adams, we camped at Killen Creek and hiked to High Camp and Foggy Flat.
On this four day backpacking trip to Hunts Cove in Mount Jefferson Wilderness, we setup a basecamp at Hanks Lake and day hiked up to the Pacific Crest Trail and Shale Lake.
Located in the Mount Washington Wilderness in Central Oregon, Tenas Lakes are a group of subalpine lakes with rocky shorelines and blue-green water. We spent four days relaxing, swimming, and doing short exploration hikes in the area.
This was a two night backpacking trip during peak wildflowers at Mount St. Helens, and the first trip for me where photography was the main focus (pun intended!).
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the eruption of Mount St. Helens, and in normal times, this area would be crowded with hikers on the trails and busloads of tourists at the visitors centers.
My first backpacking trip of the year was focused on spending time relaxing in the forest and practicing photography skills. We spent two nights and explored the side trails on Trapper Creek.
Two nights of magical backpacking in a wet forest full of mushrooms and trees dripping with lichens.
This is definitely a trip I’ll never forget. We had permits for an epic campsite on Copper Ridge with views of endless peaks (including some in Canada!), and I saw my first ever BEAR on the trail right in front of me as we hiked out.
