The Alpine Lakes Wilderness in Washington is one of my favorite subalpine/mountain locations. Filled with granite slabs, over 700 mountain lakes, and peak after peak, it’s subalpine glory at its finest.
I took my husband on his first ever backpacking trip at Siouxon Creek. There were more mice than I’ve ever seen here – mini-rat-bastards!!
The Enchanted Valley is located in the Quinault rainforest on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. This was a three night backpacking trip, with plans to camp near Pony Bridge and Pyrites Creek.
My first backpack of the year at Siouxon Creek… if you follow my posts every year, you’ll notice that this is one of my favorite places to go in the spring.
A friend and I wanted to get in one last backpacking trip before the season ended, so we decided to spend two nights at Burnt Lake, located on the west side of Mount Hood.
On this three night backpacking trip to Killen Creek on Mount Adams, there were meadows full of wildflowers, views of Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens and Goat Rocks, plenty of swarming mosquitoes, a waterfall at our campsite, and several small lakes nearby.
